Actress-turned-councilor aspirant Ara Mina expressed confidence that veteran actor Vic Sotto harbors no ill feelings toward her decision to run under the camp of Pasig mayoralty aspirant Sarah Discaya, the political rival of his son, incumbent Mayor Vico Sotto.

Ara is running for councilor in Pasig’s District 2 as part of Discaya’s slate. Despite being on opposing sides, Ara told showbiz reporters that she believes Vic Sotto, her former co-star, is too sensible to take things personally.

“Knowing Bossing [Vic], matalinong tao [siya] hindi para magkaroon ng gan’ung problema. May kanya-kanya naman tayong preference and kanya-kanyang journey. I don’t think sasama loob ni Bossing sa gan’un,” Ara said in an interview, as quoted by Inquirer.
  • Ara and Vic previously worked together in the 2003 superhero film Fantastic Man, where she played his love interest possessed by an evil spirit. She clarified that while she shared a working relationship with Vic, she never had the chance to personally know Vico.

“I don’t personally [know] Vico kasi si Bossing lang ang nakasama ko sa trabaho, kumbaga wala talaga akong personal [relationship] with Mayor Vico. Si Ate Sarah [Discaya] talaga ‘yung binigay sa’kin ni Lord para pumasok sa public service,” Ara added, citing what she called a “sign” from God leading her to politics under Discaya’s camp.

The actress maintained that her decision to run is purely based on her own political journey and convictions, not personal ties or animosity.

Meanwhile, Ara Mina addressed the confusion about the gadget use issue. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Ara said she also saw the laptop. According to Ara, "It's the girl in front of me nakaupo yung may ari ng laptop." In the same interview, Ara also clarified that they were not related to the girl at all.
