“Ang una pong insidente ay nangyari pa po noong April 11,” the officer said while discussing the allegations against the man.

Another incident allegedly occurred on May 8, 2026. Police said the couple had a disagreement at home that developed into a heated argument before the alleged physical abuse took place.

“Nagkaroon po muna sila ng hindi pagkakaunawaan na humantong po ito sa mainitang pagtatalo,” the officer explained.

Authorities said disagreements between the couple allegedly escalated into physical violence. The report attributed this account to the police investigation into the victim’s experiences with her partner.

The accused was being held at the Marikina City Police Custodial Facility at the time of the report. He declined to give a statement, so his response to the allegations was not included in the news segment.

Following the arrest, police encouraged people experiencing any form of abuse to seek assistance from authorities. They urged victims not to be afraid to report what was happening to them.

An officer interviewed in the report expressed concern that abuse could continue if the situation was not brought to the attention of authorities.

“Kung hindi po kasi sila magsusuplong, sir, magiging paulit-ulit lang po na mangyayari ’yan sa kanila,” the officer said.

Police also identified the barangay and local police as places where people experiencing abuse could ask for help. The officer encouraged them to approach either office as early as possible and assured them that assistance would be provided.

“In-encourage po natin na sila ay kaagad na dumulog sa ating barangay kung hindi man sa ating kapulisan po dahil ia-assist naman po natin sila nang maayos po dito,” the officer added.
