According to the woman, it was not the first time she had experienced physical abuse from her partner.
She claimed that the alleged abuse began in 2022. The incidents reportedly happened whenever the officer was under the influence of alcohol and they had an argument.
In the 24 Oras report, the teacher also opened up about the emotional and physical suffering she experienced throughout their relationship.
"Nakakabaliw ng utak, nakakasira ng ulo, nakakawala ng dignidad," the woman said.
She shared that she never expected to experience such treatment from someone she believed would make her feel safe and protected.
The teacher also recalled giving love, care, and financial support to her partner. However, she claimed that she suffered physical injuries and emotional pain during their relationship.
Following the incidents, the woman decided to seek help from the National Police Commission.
On October 27, she went to NAPOLCOM to formally file a complaint against the police officer over the alleged repeated abuse.
The officer also appeared before the commission to explain his side and apologize for his actions.
"Sorry sa lahat ng nagawa ko," he said when asked about his message to his partner.
He also had a message for his fellow police officers.
"Sa mga kabaro ko, huwag niyo akong tularan," he added.
Despite his apology, the officer is still facing administrative complaints for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
NAPOLCOM emphasized that it does not tolerate violence against women, particularly when the person involved is a member of the police force.
The commission also encouraged other victims of domestic violence involving police officers to come forward and file formal complaints.
Officials stressed the importance of reporting such incidents to help hold those responsible accountable and maintain discipline within the police organization.
The case has also highlighted the importance of seeking help and reporting alleged abuse through the proper authorities.
