According to a report by GMA News' "24 Oras Weekend," the incident happened around noon on Thursday after a confrontation between the two workers escalated into a fistfight before the victim suffered stab wounds.

Police said the men had an existing dispute even before the incident.

“May previous silang alitan na pinaghihinalaan ng biktima ‘yung suspek na nagsusumbong sa kanilang foreman,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Aniway, station commander of Pasong Putik Police Station 16.

Authorities responded immediately after receiving a report about the incident. The injured worker was rushed to Lorenzo Hospital for medical treatment, while officers pursued and arrested the suspect shortly afterward.

“Dinala ‘yung biktima doon sa Lorenzo Hospital habang 'yung suspek ho natin ay na-corner at agad din na nagresponde 'yung kapulisan natin at naaresto 'yung suspek,” Aniway said.

Investigators said the victim sustained wounds on both cheeks and his back, which were believed to have been caused by a sharp metal object. However, the alleged weapon has not yet been recovered.

While admitting that he had become angry because of what he described as repeated bullying at work, the suspect denied stabbing his co-worker.

“Ginrip niya po ako sa ulo. Pinagsusuntok niya po ako. ‘Di ang ginawa ko naman po nagpupumiglas ako na makawala sa kaniya hanggang tinulak ko siya nang tinulak, natumba po siya,” the suspect said.
“Lagi niya po akong pinag-iinitan sa trabaho. Lagi niya po akong binu-bully, pino-provoke. Lagi niya po akong hinahamon na suntukan daw kami sa labas,” he added.
