The case involves a married male officer and a married female officer who were reportedly discovered together inside a rented room in Butuan City on Wednesday. According to a report aired on GMA Regional TV News on Friday, the incident came to light after the policewoman's husband allegedly caught the two together.
As a result, authorities initiated legal and administrative proceedings against the officers.

The regional police office stressed that it remains committed to upholding discipline within its ranks and will not tolerate any behavior that compromises the sanctity of marriage or damages the image of the organization.
“As law enforcers, we are bound by a higher standard of morality, integrity, and discipline. We are expected to serve as role models in our communities and within our households living a life free from immoralities and uncalled acts which is equally required as continuous qualification in the service,” PRO-13 stated.
PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Marical Mariano Magistrado IV also assured the public that the investigation would be conducted fairly and transparently.
According to the regional office, the two officers will not receive any special treatment while the case is being investigated. If found liable, they could face criminal penalties, administrative sanctions, and possible dismissal from the Philippine National Police.
“Let this serve as a warning to all personnel of PNP Caraga: The leadership will not close its eyes on upon any immoral acts and any form of misconduct that will tarnish the badge and reputation of this organization. Anyone who opts to engage in similar or any act scandalous that will compromise the values that we swear to protect will be dealt with by full force of the law,” PRO-13 said.
