According to a report by 24 Oras, authorities first received information about a possible bomb threat. When police arrived at the school, they learned that the incident also involved a shooting threat that had circulated through a message warning students to be careful because freshmen would supposedly be shot the next day.
The alarming message immediately raised concern among students and school officials, prompting the deployment of SWAT personnel and officers from the Cebu City Police. Authorities searched the entire campus to ensure everyone's safety.
After thoroughly inspecting the school grounds, police confirmed that they found neither an explosive device nor an active shooter. Even so, many students remained shaken by the incident, especially because of the recent shooting at a school in Tacloban, which was still fresh in their minds.

Despite the scare, school officials decided to continue classes while police personnel stayed on campus to help maintain security.
Deputy City Director for Administration Lt. Col. Frank Rod Or said police recommended suspending classes, but the school chose to proceed with lessons while authorities remained in the area.
"We recommended na i-suspend ba nila ang eskwelahan but then the school authorities decided na ipadayon nila ang maong pag-eskwela provided nga naay police personnel nga mabilin didto."
Police also confirmed that investigators already have a lead on the person responsible for the threats. However, authorities declined to disclose the individual's identity or possible motive because the investigation is still ongoing.
Officials said the social media post containing the threat has been endorsed to the Cybercrime Unit. The school is also coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation to help identify the person behind the post.
"Katong social media post gi-submit na nato sa Cybercrime Unit."
In an official statement, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. said the safety of students, teachers, and school employees remains the city's top priority. He directed authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and called on the public to remain calm.
The mayor also met with members of the Local School Board, the Peace and Order Council, and the police to discuss stronger security measures for schools across the city.
