The shocking street violence, which took place last Friday in Barangay San Manuel, has left a local community in deep shock and a family completely devastated as they pray for a recovery.
Investigators and village leaders immediately launched an intense probe into the incident, which officials say was triggered by an unresolved historical grudge that violently boiled over into the public space.
The sudden street confrontation developed rapidly when the victim’s circle crossed paths with an opposing neighborhood faction.

According to preliminary findings, members of the initial group were allegedly carrying sharp objects, causing the rival faction to briefly withdraw from the scene.
However, the opposing group returned shortly after, fully armed and intent on retaliation, ultimately isolating the victim before launching a ruthless physical assault in an open street.
The human impact of this senseless tragedy is visible at the Tala General Hospital, where the victim remains in highly critical condition.
The heartbreaking details of the event were captured in a comprehensive report published online by GMA News.
Distraught by the sudden turn of events, the victim's mother explained that her son had simply asked for permission to hang out in a nearby subdivision, completely unaware that the gathering involved drinking.
Weeping over her son's severe internal injuries, she shared, “Halos mamatay na po siya, naapektuhan ang baga,” conveying the sheer agony of a parent facing the unthinkable.
A major breakthrough in the criminal investigation occurred due to the proactive measures taken by Barangay Chairman Gilbert Agpalo Baptista.
Barangay authorities immediately reviewed local surveillance footage to identify the individuals involved in the violent street fight.
When initially confronted with the clear security recordings, a primary individual associated with the incident tried to downplay the weapon used, but eventually cracked under pressure and offered a complete confession to the village leaders.
Further local inquiries conducted by the village council confirmed that this brutal confrontation was far from a spontaneous misunderstanding.
Chairman Baptista noted that a thorough background check into the local factions exposed a long-standing pattern of hostility, adding, “Base sa aking pagsasaliksik, meron na silang alitan dati.” This historical context directly contradicts the mother's initial statements, as she firmly maintained that her son had no prior knowledge or relationship with the person who committed the assault.
