A bag containing more than P70,000 in cash, several cards, and keys was stolen from a parked SUV in Valenzuela City.

According to a report by James Agustin on GMA News' "Unang Balita," the incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on Saturday along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Dalandanan. The SUV was parked outside a shop when the theft took place.

CCTV footage showed a man opening the passenger-side door of the vehicle to retrieve something from inside. The owner later explained that the man was with them and had been asked to get an item from the SUV.

Moments later, two men riding a motorcycle arrived and stopped near a post. The passenger got off, walked toward the vehicle, opened the driver's side door, and quickly grabbed a bag before returning to the motorcycle and fleeing with his companion.

The SUV's dashcam also recorded the suspects stopping near the vehicle shortly before the theft.

The victim recalled how they discovered that the bag had been taken.

"Inopen siya nung husband ko kasi may pinakuha kami dun sa kasama namin. Pagkakuha niya, naka-open pa yung car. Ilang minutes lang pagkatapos noon, doon dumating na 'yung mga salisi," she said.

She added that her husband only realized the bag was missing when he was about to make a payment.

"Bababa sana yung asawa ko tapos na-realize niya, 'Uy, yung bag ko.' So babalikan niya sana doon sa car kaagad pero nung pinuntahan niya, wala na."

Aside from the cash, the stolen bag also contained various cards and keys. The victim said the loss was painful because the money was earned through hard work.

"Sabi ko nga kahit P1,000 lang 'yun, masakit pa rin sa amin. Kasi hindi naman pinupulot 'yun. Pinaghirapan 'yun eh," she shared.

The incident has already been reported to the Valenzuela City Police Station. Authorities said they are conducting backtracking and forward-tracking operations using available CCTV footage to identify and locate the suspects.

The victim expressed hope that the perpetrators would soon be arrested and held accountable for the crime.

In other news, a tragic altercation in Bocaue resulted in the death of a 45-year-old woman after she was reportedly attacked by her younger half-brother. Law enforcement officials indicated that the conflict was triggered by a disagreement regarding a request for fare money. The victim suffered several fatal injuries during the encounter and was pronounced dead prior to her arrival at the local hospital. Following the incident the 33-year-old suspect was taken into custody by police and is anticipated to be charged with murder.

Still in other news, a 37-year-old resident of Bokod was apprehended for the alleged murder of his 74-year-old mother within their shared community. The grim discovery occurred when a nearby resident noticed remains partially exposed from a shallow grave in the area. Investigators uncovered forensic evidence and bloodstains within the residence that the suspect occupied with the deceased. Local police are currently conducting a deeper inquiry to determine the specific reasons behind this violent act.
