The damaged vehicle was later seen with a smoking tire that was already scraping against the road. Several motorists repeatedly sounded their horns as they attempted to stop the MPV.

When the vehicle finally came to a halt, a pickup truck driver confronted the driver. Three male passengers who were reportedly with the driver were also seen running away from the area.

One concerned citizen helped restrain the driver to prevent him from escaping.

"Yung babae nabangga sa taktak nagja-jogging. Tinakbo niya tapos may mga tricycle pang tinamaan doon. Mahirap pong kausap yung driver dahil po lasing. Ine-SOP ko po siya at pinusasan ko po para hindi na makatakbo," he said.

According to Barangay Del Paz officials, the driver was only 18 years old and was unable to present a driver's license. Witnesses also claimed that the vehicle had been speeding and swerving moments before the crash.

Aside from hitting the jogger, the MPV allegedly struck a parked motorcycle and a tricycle.
