A father allegedly took justice into his own hands after becoming frustrated with the slow progress of a case involving the reported abuse of his daughter.

The incident was featured in a report by News5's Frontline Pilipinas through journalist Gary De Leon. According to the report, a man was shot dead in Barangay Batasan Hills in Quezon City by a gunman who arrived with an accomplice on a motorcycle.
CCTV footage captured the arrival of the riding-in-tandem suspects in the area. Although the actual shooting was not visible in the video, investigators said the back rider got off the motorcycle and shot the victim. The man died at the scene.
After the attack, the gunman was seen running away before riding the motorcycle again and escaping with his companion. Other CCTV footage later tracked the suspects as they headed toward Marikina.

Police conducted a backtracking operation and followed the route taken by the suspects. Their investigation led them to a bridge where they found discarded clothing believed to belong to the gunman, along with a bag.
Inside the bag, authorities recovered a firearm and a mobile phone. Investigators said these items became key pieces of evidence that helped identify one of the suspects, identified only as alias Gemar.
The suspect was later arrested in North Caloocan. Police said he served as the motorcycle rider during the crime. However, the alleged gunman, identified as alias Ramil, was not found during the operation.
According to investigators, the victim had been accused of sexually abusing the suspect's daughter, who was reportedly 10 years old when she disclosed the alleged incident that happened two years earlier.
Police said the victim was allegedly lured into meeting the suspects through a work-related arrangement. Authorities claimed the victim, who worked as a carpenter, was made to believe that he had been hired for a construction project.
During questioning, alias Gemar admitted involvement in the crime and claimed that his motivation stemmed from what allegedly happened to his daughter.
"Ni-r@pe yung anak ko, sir," he said when asked why the victim was targeted.
The suspect also reportedly said he became impatient with the pace of the legal process, which led him to plan the killing.
Authorities also recovered a motorcycle taxi uniform, suspected illegal dr*gs, and the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime. Alias Gemar is now facing a murder case, while the police continue their operation to locate alias Ramil.
