A father and his daughter were injured after a family dispute inside their home in Minglanilla, Cebu escalated into a stabbing incident, according to a report aired on Saksi.

The incident involved three members of the same family who all sustained injuries after an argument turned violent. Based on the television report, the trouble initially started between a 68-year-old woman and her husband inside their residence.

According to the report, the elderly man allegedly became angry because he did not want their house to remain locked. What began as a disagreement between the couple reportedly intensified when the man allegedly grabbed a sickle and started swinging it.

The wife was reportedly struck during the incident and sustained injuries. The commotion then woke up their daughter, who immediately rushed to help her mother.

According to the report, the daughter initially failed to recognize that the person she was confronting was her own father. Believing that her mother was in danger, she allegedly attacked him in an effort to defend the older woman.

The situation became more chaotic as the father reportedly retaliated and struck his daughter as well. Both sustained injuries during the confrontation.

The violent encounter eventually stopped when the daughter realized that the person she was fighting was actually her father. The realization reportedly ended the confrontation, allowing authorities and emergency responders to address the situation.

All three family members were later brought to a hospital for medical treatment. Despite the severity of the incident, the report said that the father, mother, and daughter are now in stable condition.

The incident highlighted how a simple disagreement inside a household can quickly escalate into violence when emotions take over. Authorities have yet to provide additional details regarding possible charges or further legal action related to the case.
