The incident, which has been classified as a "gas-and-run" or "gas-takas" case, occurred at a service station along Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Bahay Toro, leaving staff frustrated and authorities on high alert.
Based on official statements from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the event unfolded at approximately 3:16 AM on Sunday.
A driver behind the wheel of a blue sedan reportedly requested a full tank or a specific amount of fuel totaling P1,500.

However, just as the gasoline attendant finished the service, the motorist suddenly accelerated and sped away toward an unknown direction, bypassing the payment process entirely.
The alert station attendant immediately reported the theft to the local precinct, prompting an immediate response from the QCPD.
A "flash alarm" was issued shortly after the report was filed, alerting mobile units across the district to look out for a vehicle matching the description provided by the staff.
"We are currently processing and meticulously analyzing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings obtained from the gas station and neighboring commercial buildings," the QCPD stated in a press release.
Investigators are hopeful that the high-definition footage will reveal the vehicle’s license plate number and a clear image of the driver’s face, which would significantly expedite the arrest.
This latest incident has sparked discussions online regarding the safety of service station employees who often bear the brunt of such losses.
The QCPD has called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or individuals fitting the description of the suspect.
"Individuals who may recognize the suspect or the vehicle seen on CCTV footage are advised to report to the nearest police station or contact emergency hotlines, including E911 or the QC Helpline 122," the police added.
As the search continues, authorities are also coordinating with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to verify ownership of blue sedans registered within the region.
The QCPD remains committed to resolving the case and ensuring that such brazen acts of petty theft do not go unpunished.
