It has been exactly six years since the shutdown of ABS-CBN's free-to-air broadcast, but the network’s connection with its audience remains as strong as ever. In an official statement released today, May 5, 2026, the media giant expressed its heartfelt thanks to its "Kapamilyas" for standing by them since then.

"Today marks the sixth year of ABS-CBN’s journey from a broadcast network to a global storytelling company following its broadcast shutdown in 2020," the statement began.

The company highlighted the significant progress it has made strategically and financially as it transformed into a content-focused entity that continues to bring joy and stories to the Filipino people everywhere.

Despite no longer operating as a traditional television network, ABS-CBN emphasized that its goal remains the same: to tell Filipino stories that bring joy and inspiration while delivering accurate and relevant news.

The network also earned praise as it took a moment to specifically thank its partners, advertisers, artists, journalists, and workers. However, the most emotional part of the message was reserved for the audience.

"We take this moment to express our heartfelt thanks to our audiences for their trust and belief, and for standing with us through this journey," the network shared in their official statement.

The transition over the last six years has seen ABS-CBN expand its reach through digital platforms, international partnerships, and streaming services. According to the company, this evolution would not have been possible without the loyalty of the Filipino people, their "Kapamilyas" who has been with them since.

"While we no longer operate as a free-to-air broadcast network, our commitment to create meaningful content and be in the service of the Filipino people and our audiences remains firm."

They underscored that ABS-CBN continues to serve as a long-standing institution dedicated to Filipino audiences, employees, and media practitioners.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN released a statement addressing allegations about its retirement fund and financial health. The company denied claims of preferential treatment and clarified issues surrounding employee benefits. It emphasized its commitment to employees, especially after the 2020 franchise loss ABS-CBN also described the controversy as part of a family dispute and vowed to defend itself against misinformation.
