A sari-sari store owner was wounded after being robbed and shot by a motorcycle-riding suspect who initially posed as a customer in Bacoor City, Cavite. The incident has prompted police to look into possible connections with a previous robbery in the same area.

CCTV footage from Barangay Molino 3 showed the suspect arriving at the store wearing a helmet and purchasing a bottle of water. Moments later, as the victim handed over the item, the rider suddenly grabbed the store owner’s necklace.
The confrontation quickly escalated when the victim tried to recover his stolen jewelry.
The suspect then drew a firearm and pointed it at the store owner. Despite being threatened, the victim fought back and even kicked the suspect’s motorcycle in an attempt to knock him down.

The struggle ended in violence when the suspect opened fire, hitting the store owner before fleeing the scene. Two companions of the victim arrived shortly after, but the suspect had already escaped.
“Nakita namin na may mga basyo ng bala doon sa tapat ng tindahan. ‘Yun nga daw, hinablot ang kuwintas nu’ng lalaki. Tapos, lumaban 'yung hinablutan ng kuwintas. Lumabas siya, tinadyakan niya 'yung motor, binaril na siya sa hita, tapos tatlong putok eh. Meron ditong tama sa tiyan,” sabi ni Reynaldo Gonzaga, Barangay Tanod ng Molino 3.
Responding barangay personnel brought the victim to a nearby hospital. According to the latest information from his relatives, his condition has stabilized.
Barangay records revealed that a similar robbery involving a stolen necklace had occurred in February.
Community members noted that the suspect’s helmet and motorcycle in the recent incident appeared similar to those seen in the earlier case, raising suspicion of a possible repeat offender.
“Nakahelmet siya eh. Pero suspect siya po namin kasi pangalawa na itong nangyaring ganito ang sitwasyon na may hold-up, kwintas din 'yung kinuha. So siya pa rin 'yung suspect namin kasi pareho ng helmet at saka 'yung motor. Dito din, sa kabilang street, mga February,” sabi ni Gonzaga.
Bacoor police continue to investigate the case, but have yet to release further details. Meanwhile, the victim’s family has chosen not to issue any statement as the investigation progresses.
