A 54-year-old caretaker was brutally killed after being stabbed multiple times at a market in Quezon City.

GMA News reported that the victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival, having sustained more than thirteen stab wounds across his body.
Authorities quickly apprehended the suspect, a 27-year-old market helper. According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Romil Avenido, station commander of the Batasan Police, a witness heard a loud scream and saw the suspect repeatedly stabbing the victim without hesitation.

Both weapons were recovered at the scene.
Investigations revealed a long-standing conflict between the two.
The suspect reportedly harbored a grudge against the victim, frequently clashing with him over an unusual dispute—whenever the suspect tied up his pet chicken near the victim’s place, tensions would rise.
“Ang nakikita po natin dito ay personal grudge kung kaya nagawa niya itong pananaksak. Pagkakuwento nitong suspek ay araw-araw siyang pinagsabihan nang hindi maganda nitong ating biktima," Avenido added.
Records show that the suspect had previously faced charges of frustrated murder and physical injuries but was released last year. Now, he is set to face a murder complaint.
The suspect, currently detained at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) office in Camp Karingal, has refused to give a statement regarding the crime.

In other news, an elderly man died after he and his wife were ambushed while travelling aboard their pickup truck along a national highway in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur. According to a report by GMA Regional TV News, the 77-year-old male died while his 66-year-old wife suffered injuries. Reports also state that the 77-year-old male was identified as a manager at an agri-machinery company. Investigators say that the two were tailed by motorcycle-riding gunmen and when they got to a certain, they opened fire, fatally injuring the 77-year-old male and inflicting injuries to his wife.
