A tragic ambush in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, has resulted in the death of a company manager and injuries to his wife.

The couple was attacked while traveling in their pick-up truck along a national highway.
According to reports from GMA Regional TV News, the deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Arthur Paul Elecanal, a manager at an agri-machinery company.

His 66-year-old wife sustained injuries during the attack. The couple were residents of Mlang, Cotabato.

Police investigations indicate that the couple was traveling in their pick-up truck when they were targeted by motorcycle-riding assailants on Saturday.
The gunmen opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the fatal injuries to Mr. Elecanal and injuries to his wife.
Authorities are currently conducting an intensive investigation to determine the identities of the perpetrators and the motives behind the attack. The search for the assailants is ongoing.
