The shooting occurred during an altercation involving a rider allegedly trying to flee from a traffic enforcer who was attempting to apprehend him.
According to Leira Zara, the victim’s wife, as reported by TV Patrol of ABS-CBN News, the victim had a normal day before the incident.
They had picked her up and dined together, enjoying a peaceful meal.

However, as they were out, they witnessed a commotion on the street involving a traffic enforcer and a rider being apprehended.
Rather than complying, the fleeing rider attempted to escape the scene, prompting the victim to chase after him on his own motorcycle. This chase ultimately led to a confrontation, with the suspect allegedly shooting the victim in the head. The unfortunate victim fell to the ground, leading to his tragic demise.
CCTV footage shared by ABS-CBN News captured the moment of the confrontation between the fleeing rider and the traffic enforcers.
Another footage showed the heart-wrenching moment when the victim collapsed after being shot,.
This senseless act of violence highlights the dangers faced by individuals trying to intervene in situations of law enforcement, and the need for greater security measures to protect both citizens and enforcers.

As reported in TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the suspect, Jason Dalayon, was resting on a hammock when he saw the victim and called him. That's when the suspect stabbed the victim, multiple times; as reported, the victim sustained a total of 13 stab wounds.
