According to their father, Armando Balagat, his children went home this Monday afternoon to get vegetables that they were going to eat for a sports competition.

The victims are forced to ride motorcycles because their school is far away and there are no passenger vehicles in their remote areas, he added.

They were said to be happy when they had their father and son talk where they discussed about competing in the track-and-field competition. He said the road crash happened while they were returning to school.

The father of the victims requested that the van driver surrender and face his responsibility.

According to the Dupax del Norte police report, the motorcycle and van that collided with the victims were traveling in both directions. The van was about to turn left when the collision occurred.

Although police have identified the driver of the van, authorities are still searching for him.
