A rape and murder suspect from Bukidnon, who had surrendered, ended his life while giving his extrajudicial confession.

As reported by GMA Regional TV, the suspect was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The incident happened while the suspect was with his lawyer. He grabbed a gun from a policeman and used it to take his own life.

It can be recalled that on January 11, the body of a dead 5-year-old girl was discovered in a sugarcane field.

Police authorities also added that the suspect was not related nor had any previous case related to illegal drugs.
