Marawi City Vice Mayor Annouar Romuros Abedin Abdulrauf was apprehended by a joint team from the NBI and the Philippine Army.

In fact, he is the current Vice Mayor of Marawi City, and now serving his second term.

The dramatic arrest occurred shortly after the flag-raising ceremony at Marawi City Hall on Monday.

The Caloocan Regional Trial Court issued an arrest warrant for murder and attempted murder against the Vice Mayor, whose real name is Anwar Romuros.

He is accused of fatally shooting an NBI operative during a 2013 drug operation.

“Kitang kita ko siya eh. Binabanatan niya kami. Pinapatukan kami. Kilala ko siy... Mabuti at mabibigyan ng katarungan, may nabaldado at napatay," said a witness named "Bobby."

He was reportedly present during the mentioned drug operation and exchanged gunshots with the alleged suspect.

In a report by Niko Baua of ABs-CBN's 'TV Patrol', Vice Mayor Abdulrauf will be presented in court and imprisoned during the hearing period of his case.
