A 53-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) from the Middle East won the Lotto 6/42 jackpot drawn on July 11, with the winning combination of 33-17-40-09-42-20.
In an article by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) published yesterday, August 9, the OFW booked a flight back to the Philippines to claim the whopping jackpot prize of PHP 27,450,306.20.
According to PCSO, the OFW has been working abroad for 20 years to provide for his family in the Philippines. He regularly plays the lotto whenever he visits his hometown with the numbers derived from his family members’ birthdates.
This time, the winner placed his winning bet using eLotto, a web-based platform launched by the PCSO.

“Sana po ay tuloy-tuloy na ang eLotto, malakas po siya dito sa Middle East. Nakikipagbakbakan po siya sa ThaiLotto at SaudiLotto,” said the OFW-turned-millionaire.
The winner hinted that this win might encourage him to stay in his home country for good. He likewise plans to invest a portion of his winnings in business. He would also allocate some for ongoing medical expenses.
