It was on June 12 that it was first noticed by the public.

Questions arose and reporters tried to get her side of the story by then, but failed to do so.

On June 25, a video of the vice president circulated on Facebook, where one could see the hand of a person, approaching her, and asked her about the scar.

She then responded, along with a gesture that "they tried but failed to slash me."

"Sinubukan nila akong i-gurgur pero hindi sila nagtagumpay," were the exact words of the VP.

In another ambush interview, when asked to explain further, she simply stood pat with the answer she gave on the FB video.

Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, commonly known as Inday Sara, is a Filipino lawyer and politician who currently serves as the 15th vice president of the Philippines. She is notable for being the third female vice president, the third vice president from Mindanao, and the youngest vice president in the country's history. Duterte held the position of secretary of education until July 19, 2024. She is the daughter of the 16th president, Rodrigo Duterte, and has served as the mayor of Davao City from 2016 to 2022 and from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, she was Davao City's vice mayor from 2007 to 2010.
