JM Ibarra revealed that he once confronted a director after learning that Fyang Smith was allegedly subjected to an inappropriate remark during a content shoot.

The actor shared the revelation during the “Deep Truth” segment of Gandang Gabi Vice, where Vice Ganda asked him to confirm whether he had personally confronted a director over what happened to Fyang.
Vice clarified whether JM had actually gone to the director to confront him, despite not being present when the alleged incident happened.
JM confirmed that he did.

"Galing ako malayo noon," he added.
Vice then pointed out that JM had gone to the director after learning about the incident, even though he was not there when it happened.
JM again agreed with Vice's description of what he did.
According to the loveteam, the incident happened while Fyang was working on a content shoot. Fyang recalled that she was wearing a tube top during the shoot and had already been feeling uncomfortable because of several remarks allegedly made by the director.
"Parang umabot sa point na, siyempre, ang ikli ng suot, naka-tube lang ako. Tapos, una pa lang naiilang na ako kasi ang dami niyang sinasabi. Pero, ako, siyempre dahil direktor siya, respectful ako,” she said.
Fyang later learned about the alleged comment through the assistant of her makeup artist.
"Sobrang nabastusan ako kasi nagsumbong sa akin 'yung assistant ng makeup artist ko. Sabi niya, 'Sabi nu'ng direktor mo, ang sarap mo daw.' Tapos nag-chat na ako [kay JM].”
After being informed about what allegedly happened, JM immediately checked on Fyang and asked her who the director was.
He explained that he did not personally know the director and could not identify him at first because the man was not much older than them.
"Kasi hindi ko rin kilala at hindi ko mamukhaan kung sino ba 'yung direktor kasi hindi naman ganoon katandaan, halos kaedaran ko lang din. Tinanong ko si Fyang sino," he said.
Fyang also admitted that she felt she could not fully defend herself during the situation, particularly because she was dealing with a man in a position of authority on the set.
JM eventually confronted the director together with the assistant who had allegedly heard the comment. The assistant also stood by what she had heard.
The incident prompted Vice Ganda and Fyang to praise JM for taking action after learning what had happened.
JM, however, explained that his decision was not necessarily about being able to defend Fyang from every issue she encounters.
"Well, sa sarili ko lang kasi hindi ko rin siya madalas maipagtanggol sa bashing sa social media kasi hindi naman ako sanay diyan," said JM.
The revelation gave viewers another glimpse into the bond between JM and Fyang, who have continued to be associated with each other since their time on Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11.
Fyang emerged as the season's Big Winner, while she and JM became popular among fans as the JMFyang loveteam.
Their partnership continued after their time inside Bahay ni Kuya as they pursued opportunities in showbiz, with their friendship and on-screen connection remaining a source of interest among their supporters.
Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra are popular television personalities and alumni of Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11, where Fyang emerged as the Big Winner and JM finished as a finalist. Following their stint on the reality show, they built a massive following as a popular on-screen love team known as "JMFyang," starring together in projects like the digital series Ghosting.

Fyang revealed that an older actress allegedly invited JM to accompany her to her room during a Star Magic event. JM said he declined the invitation and later shared the incident with Fyang.
