Suspek na umamin sa umano pagpatay kay Jovelyn Galleno, hindi pa nakakasuhan ng PNP

- The suspect who admitted to allegedly killing and assaulting Jovelyn Galleno has not been charged with a crime yet

- This was according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the city

- A police officer explained that they do not have the result of the DNA examination yet that would prove that it was indeed the bones of Jovelyn

- The process will take a long time but the PNP is also doing everything to expedite the case

The suspect who admitted to allegedly having killed and assaulted 22-year-old Jovelyn Galleno, has not yet been charged with a crime.

A report by Radyo Bandera Philippines stated that the PNP has not filed charges yet.

According to Capt. Victoria Carmen Iquin of the City PNP, no case was filed against Leobert Agalleno in relation to his admission to the alleged killing and assault on Jovelyn.

Capt. Iquin explained that the police do not have the DNA examination result yet to prove that the skull and skeleton unearthed on the ground indeed belong to the 22-year-old girl.

She also added that the process would take long but the PNP is doing everything to expedite the case.

Jovelyn Gallano is a 22-year-old employee working in a mall in Palawan. She went missing on August 5. According to her sister, her employer said that Jovelyn already signed out from her work around 6:30 p.m. on that day. She was still able to send a message to her sister but she wasn’t able to go home anymore.

Jovelyn Galleno’s aunt, Leonita Galleno, in an exclusive interview over DWOK FM 107.9, “Ang Bigwas Station” in Puerto Princesa, for her niece to already surface. Leonita said she doesn’t believe Jovelyn is dead and so appealed to her to have pity on her mom and aunts. She also said that if Jovelyn wouldn’t show herself to her family and to the public, Leonita’s son would be in peril. It can be recalled that Leobert Dasmariñas, Leonita’s son, claimed to police authorities that he took part in the alleged abduction of his cousin, Jovelyn.

Recently, the Medico Legal Officer of the Puerto Princesa City Health Department, Dr. Eunice Herrera, said that the skeleton attributed to the missing girl Jovelyn Galleno appeared to be questionable. She indicated it is highly questionable that within two weeks the remains of a deceased person will immediately become a skeleton. She said the body should still be in a state of decomposition because only 18 days have passed. It can be recalled a skeleton was recovered after Jovelyn's cousin, Leobert, surrendered and pointed to the police the place where they allegedly left the body of the girl.
