Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles issued a statement regarding the controversy surrounding the monument of the late Sen. Ninoy Aquino.
It was blocked by the tend used during the BBM-Sara rally. Thus, the monument itself could not be seen from the stage.
Many netizens felt that the act was disrespectful, and Mayor Angeles issued a statement on the matter.
In a now viral video, the Mayor said, "Pabayaan na ang mga bumabatikos, it's time for forgiveness and healing."

It can be recalled that when VP Leni Robredo held its rally in Tarlac, people were shouting "wala si Cristy."
It was not mentioned though if they were referring to their mayor.
The Tarlac rally of VP Leni Robredo had a crowd estimate of 40K. It was also attended by different celebrities including Angel Locsin and Kris Aquino.
