Eric Tai, also known as Eruption, was interviewed by Julius Babao on his YouTube channel Julius Babao Unplugged. During the interview, Julius asked Eric why he left the ABS-CBN noontime program “It’s Showtime.”
Eruption revealed that it was a producer of the show who informed him that he was being removed from the program because it had to undergo a reformat.
However, Eruption did not have hard feelings toward the “It’s Showtime” family even if he was let go from the show.
He expressed his gratitude to Vice Ganda, the other co-hosts, and the staff of the show for giving him an opportunity to work and gain popularity. Eric said that if not for his time on “It’s Showtime,” he would not have had endorsements and social media followers after his removal from the program.

“Papasok na ako ng Showtime ‘tapos kinuha ako nung producer. Ang sabi niya, kung pwede daw mag-meeting muna.
“Umakyat kami sa taas. I was like, ‘Uy, ba’t aakyat sa taas? Bihira kami dito sa taas.’’ And then I had a feeling that something was going on and then sabi niya, ‘Pasenya na, Eric, na nagkaroon kami ng reformat and hindi na kailangan ‘yung full services mo dito.’ I took it on the chin and I said, ‘Thank you. Kasi, kilala na ako dahil sa inyo.’
