The actor explained that being a good person is something people should not be afraid to acknowledge.
He also encouraged the individuals being honored at the event to have the same confidence in themselves.
"And I'm sure gusto ko ganun din yung maging mindset ng mga heroes natin na you can be proud to tell the world that you're a good person. Please be proud of that fact," he added.
A video of his remarks was shared on Instagram by Kapuso PR.
Aside from encouraging the honorees, the celebrity also talked about his belief that people's actions eventually return to them.
According to Alden, doing good can bring positive things into a person's life.
"Keep on throwing it, throwing it at the universe. Kasi it's a form of manifestation. Na if you always do good, good will come back to you," he explained.
He further shared that he believes people eventually receive the results of their actions, whether good or bad.
However, the actor clarified that helping others should never be motivated by the expectation of receiving something in return.
"Do good without expectations of it returning to you. Because one way or another, it will find its way back to you," he reminded the audience.
For Alden, genuine kindness means choosing to help because it is the right thing to do, not because someone is waiting for a reward.
The event also recognized Filipinos whose acts of courage, generosity, and compassion have made a difference in their communities.
Through his AR Foundation, the actor helped select the 20 individuals honored during the ceremony.
Alden Richards is a popular Kapuso actor, singer, and television host. He first gained recognition on GMA-7 after joining the reality show StarStruck. He rose further to fame through teleseryes such as Alakdana, One True Love, and Victor Magtanggol, and has been recognized as a strong dramatic actor. In 2015, Alden’s popularity soared even more because of the phenomenal love team “AlDub” with Maine Mendoza in the “Kalyeserye” segment of Eat Bulaga!. This made him one of the most prominent leading men in the industry, leading to blockbuster films and numerous awards. Outside of showbiz, Alden is also known for being family-oriented and for maintaining a close connection with his fans.
As previously reported by KAMI, Alden Richards has drawn attention online after reposting an Instagram Story comparing former House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s hospital arrest with the reported detention of an elderly man who allegedly begged to feed his grandchild. The repost has questioned the apparent contrast between Romualdez being allowed to remain in a hospital after experiencing an anxiety attack and a 68-year-old man who was reportedly ailed after begging on the streets.
Meanwhile, Alden Richards immediately agreed to star in Love, Siargao after Nadine Lustre was mentioned. He said Nadine’s local connection to Siargao could strengthen the series’ storytelling. The project marks Alden’s first time working with Viu Philippines. He also welcomed the chance to play an island boy and shoot a project on an island which is a new challenge for him.
