Aired ‘blooper' in ‘My Special Tatay’ garners heavy backlash from netizens
- The GMA-7 teleserye entitled “My Special Tatay” aired a medical “blooper” in one of its episodes
- This caused dismay among many social media users
- The credibility of the drama series’ writers is also being questioned

“My Special Tatay,” a GMA-7 primetime series, suffered various hostile remarks due to a medical “misinformation” aired few days ago.
KAMI learned from the said episode that Boyet, a man with a mild mental disability portrayed by Ken Chan, suffered from 2 gunshots in his body.
As evident on the bloody shirt's stain, he was shot on the upper left corner of his chest and the other was at the lower right rib area.
However, netizens found it rather misleading and confusing when the doctor at the hospital talked to the character’s mother about the incident.
“Tinamaan ng bala sa ribs at appendix ang anak niyo. We have yet to explore kung maisasalba pa namin ang appendix niya,” the doctor explained.
In the trajectory of the bullets shot, Boyet is expected to have ailments either on the heart area, lungs, or liver but not in the appendix.

Netizens also questioned the credibility of the writers as to why they would want to save the appendix, knowing that the aforementioned organ can be removed once ruptured or injured.
Due to the medical “misinformation” aired in the show, a lot of netizens expressed their dismay upon seeing the episode. Here are their comments:
“GMA please lang! Sinasadya nyo ata talaga ang mga ganitong eksena para mag-trend!”
“Sana marunong mag research ang GMA-7 writers. Kaya pinagtatawanan na sila eh.”
“Maganda sana ang ‘My Special Tatay’ kaso pumalpak naman sila sa paggawa ng serye. Yan ang hindi ma-perfect ng GMA-7 kaya napupuna sila ng netizens.”
“As usual sinadya ng GMA yan. Strategy nila para mag viral at pag usapan.”
