Mika Salamanca has revealed that she gave her cash prize from the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Collab Edition to her chosen charity, Duyan Ni Maria Children’s Home in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

The “Delivery Boi” star opened up about the decision during her appearance on Your Honor on Saturday, October 10. She explained that she wanted to help the children immediately, even though she had not yet received her PBB winnings at the time.
Mika and Kapamilya talent Brent Manalo were named the Big Winner duo of the celebrity edition last year. Despite their victory, the actress said the cash prize still had to go through the necessary processing, including tax deductions.
She explained to Madam Chariz Solomon and Vice Chair Buboy Villar that the delay prompted her to initially shoulder the donation herself.

“Hindi po puwede yatang pag-usapan, pero nung time kasi na nagbigay ako sa charity, hindi pa talaga nakakapagbayad. Kasi siyempre, may process pa. Siyempre kakaltasan pa yan ng tax!”
Mika also pointed out that prizes and earnings in the country are subject to taxes, which was another reason the PBB cash prize was not immediately available to her.
“Lahat ng makukuha mo sa bansang 'to kahit saan naman, may tax talaga. So, pina-process pa 'yun.”
She then confirmed that she personally advanced the money so the charity could receive the help without having to wait for the prize to be released.
“So nung mga time na 'yun, [nag-shell out muna ako].”
For Mika, however, giving away the winnings was not a difficult decision. She said that from the beginning of her PBB journey, she never truly believed that she would emerge as a winner.
The actress even described herself as a “most hated housemate” before entering the reality show. Because of that mindset, she never imagined that she would eventually receive the grand prize.
“Proud ang mga tao na dinonate ko 'yun, kasi ako naman nung nasa loob ako, hindi ko naman talaga in-expect na mananalo ako. Grabe! Bago ako pumasok ng PBB, feeling ko most hated ako na housemate na sasali nung PBB ng time na 'yun.”
Mika said her unexpected victory changed the way she viewed the prize. Rather than considering the money something solely for herself, she saw it as an opportunity to give back to the people who helped her reach that point.
“So hindi ko naman talaga inasahan na mananalo ako. So nung nanalo ako, hindi ito para sa akin, para 'to sa mga tao. Sila ang nagdala sa akin dun, babalik ko sa kanila, ganun.”
Her decision to donate the winnings highlights how deeply Mika valued the support she received during her PBB journey. Even before the prize was officially released to her, she chose to make sure that the charity she had selected could receive immediate assistance.
For Mika, the unexpected PBB victory ultimately became more than a personal achievement. It became an opportunity to return the support she believed had helped carry her to the top.
