In a recent Instagram post, the “Delivery Boi” star shared how writing the book became more than a creative project for her. Through activities connected to “Lipad,” she has had opportunities to visit different places, meet children, and hear stories about their experiences.

She explained that their efforts have allowed them to visit different communities almost every month while using the book as a way to connect with children.

For Mika, every visit has also given her a deeper understanding of the different circumstances experienced by young Filipinos.

“Iba't ibang lugar, iba't ibang bata, at iba't ibang kuwento ang naririnig ko.”

The experience eventually prompted Mika to reflect on the struggles that many children and young people continue to face. The former PBB Celebrity Collab Edition Kapuso Big Winner said writing “Lipad” helped her become more aware of realities that are often overlooked.

She also expressed her desire to raise awareness about the different realities faced by people in the country, particularly those that may already be known but are sometimes pushed aside amid everyday concerns.

Rather than limiting her message to her own experiences, Mika also urged others to contribute in whatever way they can. She emphasized that helping those in need does not necessarily require grand gestures, as long as people are willing to make an effort.

“Sana hangga't may kakayahan tayo, sa anumang paraan na kaya natin, tumulong tayo.”

Mika’s reflection highlights how “Lipad,” a story about a young diwata named Mahika, has also become a meaningful avenue for her to interact with children and learn more about their circumstances. Through the book and their outreach efforts, she hopes to encourage more people to pay attention to the realities many young Filipinos continue to experience.
