egine also reflected on how her personal story influenced aspiring performers, particularly those who experienced similar struggles while pursuing their dreams.
“I think it wasn't just my voice that inspired them. It was also how I started. I was very poor when I started. I didn't have any background, you know, coming from showbiz or anything like that. I was just really poor and I was given this wonderful talent and I wanted to help my family.”
As her career progressed, the singer achieved the dreams she once had while growing up. She believes her journey gave young artists hope that they, too, could overcome difficult circumstances and establish themselves in the industry.
“All my dreams came true and all that [happened]. And I think a lot of young singers wanted to be like me because I think they came from the same background. So, my story resonated with them and so they wanted to be like me," she said.
She added, “Siguro 'yung thinking nila, 'If Regine can do it so can I.'”
Rather than hide her humble beginnings, Regine considers them an essential part of her identity and success. She explained that her past motivated her to work harder and helped shape her character as an artist.
