Lyca Gairanod directly addressed the growing attention surrounding her political views, telling netizens not to interfere with her personal life.

During a TikTok Live, the singer responded to social media users who had been questioning her political stance. Without naming anyone, Lyca asked why people were involving themselves in her affairs.
“Bakit niyo ba ako pinapakialaman?” Lyca said.
She explained that she was deliberately avoiding mentioning specific individuals while addressing the issue.

“Hindi ako... ayoko kasing sabihin 'yung mga names, eh,” she said.
Lyca also made it clear that she does not consider herself committed to any political side. She said she does not place her trust in politics.
“Wala akong pinaniniwalaan in politics. That's it. Wala akong tiwala sa politics,” she said.
The issue gained attention after her 2015 song, “Puede Nang Mangarap,” began circulating again across social media. The track has been used in various edits, remixes, and dance videos, while old clips from Lyca's childhood interviews also resurfaced.
As her name trended online, some users began examining her social media activity for clues about her political views. Among the points raised by netizens were screenshots showing that she followed President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.
Other social media users later claimed that Lyca had unfollowed the two after screenshots of her following list circulated.
Before her TikTok Live, Lyca had already responded to a fan who expressed support for her while adding a condition related to the green and red colors associated with the UniTeam alliance during the 2022 elections.

The exchange spread across social media and generated mixed reactions. Some users criticized Lyca, while others defended her and pointed out that following a public official on social media does not necessarily establish a person's political loyalty.
Lyca has not publicly identified a political side that she supports.
Her name had previously been connected to a political controversy in 2022. At 17, she performed at a UniTeam campaign rally and motorcade in Las Piñas City in March of that year. Her participation drew criticism from some social media users, while others urged people not to cancel her and noted that she was still a minor at the time.
Lyca's public career began when she won the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014 under coach Sarah Geronimo. She was nine years old at the time.
Born in Tanza, Cavite, Lyca came from a family that worked hard to make ends meet. Her father was a fisherman, while her mother collected used bottles and old newspapers for additional income.
