Lovi Poe opened up about the nerve-racking experience of filming a Hollywood movie, admitting that she felt intimidated and starstruck while working alongside actors she had long admired.

During her recent guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Lovi was asked about her experience filming in the United States, particularly her work on the movie Bad Man.

The actress recalled feeling nervous when she found herself surrounded by several well-known actors, while also having to make sure she was confident in speaking English throughout the production.

“When I shot this movie called ‘Bad Man,’ and I remember, nakakakaba. Kasi nakaka-intimidate. First, lahat ng mga tinitingala mong artista nandoon, si Sean William Scott, si Chance Perdomo, Johnny Simmons, lahat sila nandoon, nakaka-starstruck. Tapos, kailangan buong-buo pa 'yung English mo,” natatawang pag-alala ni Lovi.

The experience was intimidating for Lovi, but she also found it rewarding because she was able to observe a different way of working in the film industry.

“So, nakaka-intimidate, pero masarap 'yung pakiramdam kasi iba 'yung ways nila, pero it's still the same as well kung paano tayo mag-film,” dagdag niya.

For the actress, taking on the Hollywood project meant stepping away from the environment she was already familiar with. Unlike working with people she had known in the Philippines, she had to navigate a new setting and put herself in situations outside her usual comfort zone.

“Siyempre, dito nakakasalamuha ko na 'yung mga tao, kilala ko. Pero doon parang bago lahat. So, I'm putting myself out there and stepping out of my comfort zone,” sabi niya.

Lovi also admitted that the experience sometimes made her question whether she was pushing herself too hard. Despite being happy with where she was in her career, she continued challenging herself by taking on unfamiliar opportunities.

“And may mga moments talaga na kinu-question ko 'yung sarili ko, ba't ko ba ito ginagawa sa sarili ko, na happy naman ako kung nasaan ako, pero I keep pushing myself to the limit. But it's nice. It's a great experience,” dagdag niya.

Despite the doubts and nerves, Lovi viewed the experience as an important opportunity for growth. She agreed with Boy Abunda's point that learning should never stop, particularly when pursuing one's dreams.

“Hindi natatapos. Kasi kailangan, it's a lot of learnings talaga. Kailangan mong matuto every time. The moment that, I read this somewhere, and maybe the moment that you're the most interesting person in the room, you're in the wrong room,” sabi niya.

Lovi explained that being around people she admired allowed her to continue learning and broaden her perspective.

“But what it means is like you want to learn from different people that you look up to,” dagdag ni Lovi.

Meanwhile, Lovi also shared another milestone in her career and personal life. She revealed that she worked on the film The Sacrifice while she was pregnant. The movie also stars Max Collins and was produced by Lovi and her husband, Montgomery Blencowe.

Her Hollywood experience and work on The Sacrifice reflect Lovi's willingness to take on new challenges while continuing to grow both professionally and personally.
