Mika Salamanca has opened up about a surprising turn in her dating life, revealing that she eventually allowed a persistent suitor to court her after initially turning him down several times.

The Pinoy Big Brother Collab Edition Big Winner discussed her romantic situation during an appearance on content creator Killa Kush’s podcast. Mika explained that her priority immediately after leaving the Pinoy Big Brother house was to focus on her career.
However, things eventually changed when someone began pursuing her.
"Pero this person kasi, very persistent talaga, very consistent," sabi niya.

Mika admitted that her suitor had already received several rejections from her. Despite this, she said he remained respectful and did not respond negatively whenever she turned him down.
"Actually, kuwento ko, binasted na siya ng ilang beses. Hindi isang beses, respectfully. And 'yung taong to kasi sobrang ma-respeto, so every time na binabasted ko siya, hindi niya tine-take negatively. Parang nag-aano pa siya, parang nagpu-push pa siya."
His persistence was not the only factor that eventually changed Mika’s perspective. She also described him as extremely kind, while recalling that he continued giving her surprises even after being rejected.
The situation also prompted Mika to be honest about where she stood emotionally. Rather than giving him false hope, she said she felt the need to communicate openly about her circumstances and feelings.
"Na-feel bad ako, pero I have to be honest with him. I really have to. Kailangan ko i-communicate 'yung nangyayari sa situation ko ngayon. Kahit masakit, para sa kanya. Kung ano 'yung pakiramdam ko ngayon, kung ano 'yung nararamdaman ko para sa kanya ngayon. Mga ganoong moment," aniya.
As time passed, Mika acknowledged that her feelings toward the situation began to soften.
"Ngayon, pinayagan ko na talaga siya manligaw. And man oh man, ayun 'yung best decision na ginawa ko sa isang tao," pahayag niya.
For Mika, allowing the person to court her was something she considered a privilege because of how he treated her.
"Parang sa kanya ko nabigay 'yung ganoong privilege. I must say privilege, para ligawan ako, kasi sobrang sarap mahalin nang tama," dagdag niya.
Interestingly, Mika revealed that they did not seem compatible at first, which was among the reasons she initially refused to entertain his courtship.
Their differences, however, did not stop him from making an effort to understand her.
"Pero inalam niya kung paano ako mahalin," sabi niya.
Mika is also set to appear in Saving Cherry, which begins showing in cinemas nationwide on September 2. She stars alongside Barbie Forteza, Mikee Quintos, AC Bonifacio, and Sassa Gurl.
