Gee Canlas has opened up about a difficult chapter in her marriage to Archie Alemania, revealing that she eventually moved into her parents’ home after he allegedly broke two of her ribs.

Gee discussed the experience during the latest episode of “Ogie Diaz Inspires,” released on Saturday, August 29. The conversation followed Archie’s appearance on an earlier episode of the program on August 23, where he addressed several issues surrounding his personal life, including his separation from Gee.

During the interview, Gee clarified the circumstances behind her decision to live with her parents. She said the arrangement was not because the couple had always lived with her family, as Archie had previously suggested.

“Again, the proper context. The time that we got married, nagsarili kami. May sarili kaming bahay. The reason why we ended up in my parents house is because he broke my ribs. Two fracture ribs,” Gee said.

She also described a relationship dynamic that she said involved frequent misunderstandings and escalating emotions during arguments.

“Aside from not being able to communicate properly, the dynamic has been if ako ‘yong pikon, mas pikon siya. If ako ‘yong galit, mas galit siya. There’s no apology happening. There’s no communication happening.”

According to Gee, the particular incident began as what she considered a minor disagreement. She recalled feeling upset after becoming sick and wanting to be taken care of, but said Archie was focused on his phone instead.

“I think I was sick and I wanted to take care of me,” she said.

“Kaso ang nangyari, he was just on his phone. He wasn’t doing anything. So nagtampo lang ako. Normal tampo.”

Gee went on to explain that their arguments often followed a recurring pattern, with Archie allegedly threatening to leave or ending conversations abruptly.

“Kaso, ang away kasi namin would always result in him wanting to walk out, shutting down, dropping the conversation. That particular moment, nag-threat na naman siya na ‘ayaw ko na!’”

Gee confirmed her separation from Archie in March during an appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” Even before that confirmation, she had already hinted that their marriage had come to an end.

Meanwhile, Archie previously said on “Ogie Diaz Inspires” that Gee should have ended their relationship much earlier.
