According to initial investigations conducted by local traffic enforcers at the scene, driver fatigue and exhaustion may have played a critical role in the mishap.

Authorities noted that the actor likely dozed off behind the wheel for a brief moment, causing the heavy vehicle to mount the gutter and smash directly into a local eatery where a customer was eating.

The violent impact also crushed a parked motorcycle, which ended up deeply wedged underneath the vehicle's chassis, alongside causing severe structural damage to two adjacent commercial spots—a barbershop and a sari-sari store.

Store owners and nearby residents were left severely shaken by the sudden impact, which sounded to many like a sudden explosion.

Elena Barcillano, a local sari-sari store owner whose livelihood was heavily wrecked, recalled the terrifying experience and recounted how the celebrity reacted right after the crash: “Basta nandun ako sa loob eh. Nagulat ako, biglang parang sumabog, akala ko kulog... Pero nakikita ako nung driver nung sasakyan. Sabi niya, 'Sorry po, sorry po.' Sige ang sorry niya. Sabi ko, 'Sino ba to?
