In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the popular television host shared her heartbreak over a documentary by veteran journalist Kara David. The episode, titled 'Ibinasurang Paraiso' on the documentary show I-Witness, brought to light the devastating reality of a mountain of trash being dumped right in the middle of a forest, one that has since been making headlines.

Deeply moved by the report, Anne did not hesitate to laud the news team for their brave and honest work.

"On other news, kudos to ma'am @karadavid and the @IWitnessGMA team for exposing this. Nakakalungkot," Anne shared honestly on her page.

Rather than just expressing her sadness, Anne offered practical ideas on how the country can move forward. She pointed out that the Philippines needs to explore modern technology and better daily habits to protect the environment, including educating the people about it.

"Hopefully one day the government seeks a way to introduce waste to energy solutions in the country," Anne wrote. "But also educate the people on proper waste management," she added.

The documentary itself featured highly emotional moments, showing how the massive dump site has deeply affected the indigenous people and locals living near the forest.

In the shared post by The Philippine Star, a local resident could not hold back her distress while speaking to Kara David.

"Parang nagagalit po na hindi ko po maintindihan ang sarili ko po," the resident shared, looking at the heap of plastic. "Naawa din po ako sa lugar. Bakit ginanito po nila?" they asked.

She further expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of their clean lands, saying: "Masakit po sa damdamin po, Ma'am. Napakasakit po."
