Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban has opened up about the reason she and her husband, Gregg Homan, decided to stop actively sharing their daughter, Amila Sabine, on social media, saying the decision was made to protect their child as she continues to grow.

During her interview with veteran broadcaster Karen Davila, Angelica addressed why their once-active family YouTube channel has not been updated for more than a year. The actress said the change came when Amila became old enough to speak and understand more about her surroundings.

Angelica explained that she and Gregg mutually agreed to give their daughter more privacy instead of continuing to document her life online. While they remain open to family endorsements, they no longer want Amila to become part of their social media content.

“Ayaw ko na siyang ma-involve sa social media and ayoko na rin kasi na balikan niya ako at some point in her life na bakit ko yun ginawa sa kanya. We agreed–– parehas kami ng husband ko–– na okay kami to do endorsements pero hindi sa social media.”

She also shared that their daughter does not own a gadget and revealed that they support restricting social media access for children aged 16 and below.

Beyond social media, Angelica spoke about the kind of relationship she hopes to build with Amila. She said she wants to become the person her daughter can always rely on whenever she faces challenges.

“Gusto ko siyang lumaki na ako yung best friend niya–– na pag may problema, ako lang lagi yung tatawagan niya. I want her to feel safe with me. Of course, gusto ko siyang magkaroon ng sobrang daming kaibigan dahil ngayon mag-isa pa lang siyang anak ko–– hindi natin alam kung ano pa ang mangyayari in the future.”

She further explained that if Amila remains their only child, she hopes her daughter will develop meaningful friendships while still knowing that she can always turn to her parents.

“Kung magiging only daughter ko siya, I want her to have all the friends in the world para hindi niya maramdaman yung pagiging mag-isa niya. Pero bukod doon, gusto ko na ako yung bestest friend niya.”

Angelica also revealed that they plan to enroll Amila in a coeducational school to expose her to different kinds of people and experiences early in life. As for love and relationships, the actress said she hopes her daughter will grow up with the courage to continue loving despite heartbreak.

“Alam mo, hindi ako takot na masaktan siya in life–– heartbreak, hindi. Sabi ko nga, gusto ko siyang maging katulad ko–– wag tanga ah. Gusto ko siyang magmahal ng katulad ko–– yung hindi sumusuko sa love kahit masaktan siya. Love again, try again.”
