He said, “’Yun ang nakakatakot sa pagtanda, ‘yung gigising ka isang araw na marami kang dating ginagawa na hindi mo na magawa.”

“Nakakalungkot siya, unti-unti ang linaw sa isip mo na, ‘Ah, hindi na ako kasing-lakas noon.’ Kahit ako, there was a time na-depress ako bakit iba na ‘yung utak ko ngayon, ang bagal na niya. Hindi na katulad dati,” he said.

Vice Ganda also admitted that he sometimes feels frustrated when his mental processing seems slower, especially in work that requires creativity and quick thinking. He added that it becomes even more painful when the work is something he deeply loves, such as dancing or performing.

At 50, however, Vice Ganda clarified that retirement is not part of his plans. He believes he still has a lot to contribute in the entertainment industry despite his fears and realizations about aging.

He also addressed the issue of “ageism” in show business, noting how age can affect how people view celebrities.

“Meron tayong tinatawag na ageism, e. Kung merong sexism, at racism, meron ding ageism na ‘pag tumatanda ka na, parang iba ‘yong pagtingin nila sa ’yo,” he said.
