The children of the late Philippine cinema legend Nora Aunor recently opened up in an emotional interview about the harrowing moments leading up to their mother's untimely passing this year.

In a special video tribute aired on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, the Superstar's children — Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko — shared their side of the story, recalling how they rushed to their mom.

Kristoffer Ian de Leon, Nora's eldest son, had recounted that everything happened so suddenly, despite their mother seeming to respond well to treatment prior to her sudden passing this year.

"A few weeks ago, she was doing very well na kasi she's undergoing this treatment to help her ease down her pain. Everything just happened in a snap. We found out that she's already in the hospital and she was having a hard time breathing," he said.

It was during her hospitalization that doctors made the decision to perform an angioplasty on the Superstaer — a procedure meant to open clogged arteries and improve blood flow to the body.

Ian explained, "Suddenly, they decided to do an angioplasty procedure, and after that procedure — it was a fairly quick procedure — and what happened was... things got complicated from there on."

Upon learning of the situation, the siblings rushed to the hospital, dropping everything quickly.

However, what greeted them at the hospital was a moment of despair no child wants to face, with Lotlot sharing, "Pagdating namin dun, ang sabi ng mga doctor, nag-flatline siya ng mga 30 minutes pero they were able to revive her. When she got to the ICU, nag-flatline siya ulit."

The emotional interview also shed light on Nora's strength and selflessness as a devoted mom.

According to Lotlot, their mother had a tendency to hide her pain, "Ang mommy kasi, alam niyo po, ayaw niyang nag-aalala kaming mga anak niya. So every time she feels something, talagang tinatago niya sa amin."

The tribute served as both a remembrance and a celebration of the towering legacy left behind by one of the most iconic figures in Philippine entertainment, the one and only iconic Superstar.
