BINI Maloi posts statement after reposting a video mocking PWDs

BINI member Maloi Ricalde took to X to post an apology, which immediately made the rounds on social media.

According to Inquirer.net, Maloi’s apology came after she reposted a now-deleted TikTok video of a guy dancing in an exaggerated manner, which purportedly mocked people with disabilities.

As per Cosmopolitan, the P-pop star also penned a comment laughing at the said content.

“Napatawa mo ako,” her comment reads.

In her tweet, Maloi said she was deeply sorry for her actions and vowed to be more careful next time.

“Saw the tweets. I am deeply sorry. It will never be my intention to hurt anyone. I respect everyone regardless of who and what they are. I will be more careful next time.”

She also expressed appreciation to those who enlightened her.

“Thank you to those who educated me nicely. I appreciate you all.”

BINI is an all-girl Pinoy pop group formed by ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy. Their members consist of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. In November of 2020, BINI released their pre-debut single, “Da Coconut Nut.”

The management of BINI released a statement on the circulating deepfake photos and videos of the members. Star Magic said their team had initiated action to remove the accounts of individuals responsible for creating the malicious content. They are also working with the proper agencies to identify such individuals and pursue legal action against them.

Earlier, Xian Gaza mentioned BINI in his online post on July 29. On his Facebook account, Xian shared a little update about his life. He said he is currently busy spending time with his son and he has no time to delve into issues in the Philippines. The influencer also said he is happy for BINI and wished more success to come the band’s way, especially to one of its members.
