It can be recalled that their supposed conflict came to light a few moments after Caloy won his first gold in the Men’s Floor Exercise at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The revelation began when an alleged old post of Caloy’s mom about supposedly rooting for a Japanese athlete who might have been competing against her son in a past competition surfaced online.
This was further exacerbated by rumors about some of Caloy’s earnings allegedly being taken by his mom.

After Caloy won his second gold medal in Men’s Vault at the 2024 Paris Olympics, her mom granted an interview where she debunked all allegations hurled against her.
She also made a statement congratulating Caloy on his huge win, a gesture that Caloy acknowledged in a video he posted online.
In the same video, he also asked for healing between him and his mom, adding a request that she move on from the issue.
He also assured her that he has already forgiven her a long time ago.
“Ang message ko po sa inyo Ma na mag-heal kayo, mag-move on, at napatawad ko na kayo a long time ago po,” Caloy said in his message.
He did not elaborate as to what mistake he was referring to that he forgave his mom for.
Near the end of his message, Caloy revealed he always prays for the safety of his mom and that she and his family back home are okay.
“Pinagpi-pray ko na maging safe kayo palagi at nasa maayos kayong kalagayan dyan lahat,” Caloy said.
Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He bagged two gold medals in gymnastics of the Philippines in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In the same video, he acknowledged the congratulatory message of his mom in a recent interview. It can be recalled that Caloy’s mom was recently interviewed about the controversy surrounding her, Caloy, and the athlete’s GF, Chloe Anjeleigh. Earlier, his mom’s alleged old post about her supposedly rooting for a Japanese athlete surfaced, which cast some shadow on the Pinoy athlete’s huge win. In his message, Caloy acknowledged the congratulatory message of her mom though mentioned something about what was said before.
Previously in another video, the Pinoy Olympic sensation also aired a message to his father Mark Andrew. In a video posted by GMA News, Caloy shared how much he loves his dad. The two-time Olympic gold medalist also shared how supportive his beloved father is. The Filipino gymnast likewise aired a short yet sweet message for Mark Andrew.
