In the same news report, Tito, a member of the TVJ and a former senator, supposedly sent a text message to the media addressing the issue.

“Kami orig na may karapatan mag-celebrate. From TAPE people and current hosts, none of them were there 44 years ago,” the text message allegedly read.

Manila Bulletin reported that a previous pronouncement of Tito Sotto revealed that they would fight for the branding of "Eat Bulaga."

It can be recalled that the new hosts of the noontime show, Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar, Isko Moreno, and the rest, have been preparing supposedly for the upcoming anniversary celebration of the show.

In a Philstar report, it stated that the new hosts of "Eat Bulaga" are no longer mentioning the term "Dabarkads."

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.

Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and the "Legit Dabarkads" have finally kicked off their noontime show on TV5 on Saturday. During the pilot episode, the iconic trio could not help but cry as they entered their "new home." Pauleen Luna, Kristine Hermosa and other personalities related to the hosts likewise became emotional. The hosts, who have yet to reveal the title of their program, also sang Eat Bulaga's theme song, changing part of its lyrics to "buong bansa... EAT."
