Lolit Solis, inaming institusyon ang TVJ; hiling sa netizens, respeto lang at wag personalin sina Paolo Contis

Lolit Solis, in a social media post, admitted that Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, collectively known as TVJ, is already an institution.

She further acknowledged that no matter who is placed as host in Eat Bulaga, people would always see the face of TVJ.

“Iyan Salve ang dapat ibigay sa issue ng Eat Bulaga. Institution na ang Tito, Vic and Joey. Kahit sino pa ilagay mo sa Eat Bulaga , iyon mukha ng TVJ ang makikita,” Manay Lolit said.

She also said that there’s no point in getting personal with the new hosts of Eat Bulaga, adding that it’s not their fault they were picked to do the job.

“Trabaho lang, kaya tiyak na naiintindihan ng lahat na kung may gagawa ng programa o papalit sa oras nila, walang personalan iyon,” the veteran showbiz columnist said.

“Respeto sa bawat isa ang kailangan sa mga ganitong bagay. Walang personalan. Walang kasalanan iyon mga tumanggap ng trabaho,” she also said.

Manay Lolit pointed out that Paolo Contis and company are not trying to fill the shoes of TVJ, it just so happened that they needed a job, they were offered one, and they accepted it.

“Hindi porke nag trabaho sila feeling TVJ na sila. Hindi ganuon. Kailangan ang trabaho, tinanggap nila. Pero nanduon ang galang sa mga nauna sa kanila,” she wrote.

The veteran columnist also said that Paolo was even hesitant to take on the job but he needed to earn and that’s why he accepted it.

“Takot si Paolo Contis na tanggapin ito nuon una, pero kailangan niya ng income at tiyak ako na tatanggapin din iyon ng ibang aalukin,” the columnist said.

“So bakit hindi puwede si Paolo Contis o si Buboy Villar o sinuman na nasa programa ngayon. Sana maintindihan ng lahat na hindi nila pinapalitan ang mga nauna. Trabaho lang huwag maging nega sa gustong kumita ng ikabubuhay nila,” Manay Lolit said.

Paolo is a Filipino actor and comedian who appeared in his acting debut as a child actor in the ABS-CBN show "Ang TV". Despite being cast in the popular teleserye "Mara Clara", Contis was better known for being part of the primetime sitcom "Oki Doki Doc". He has won several awards, particularly at the PMPC Star Awards. His celebrity ex-girlfriends include Lian Paz and LJ Reyes.

Recently, Paolo was force to place the live streaming of TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” on his own Facebook page. It can be recalled that the official FB and YouTube pages of the noontime show were taken down recently. The said social media platforms did not state any reason for the take down, though in a live stream of EB last Tuesday, June 20, Paolo voiced out suspicion that it could have been due to mass reporting. The main host of TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga,” which airs on GMA7, bravely declared that they would continue posting and never stop until the show would have its own FB page.

This happened after TAPE’s “Eat Bulaga” Facebook and YouTube pages were apparently taken down from the said social media platforms. In both platforms, searching for “Eat Bulaga” mostly shows results of the program being hosted by TVJ and other third party streamers, but nothing on the official page of TAPE’s Eat Bulaga. There was no explanation as to why the said pages were taken down, though in a recorded stream by a third party of the noontime show last June 20, Paolo had talked about their socmed accounts. In the said recorded stream, Paolo apparently was unaware of the taking down of their socmed pages and only realized it near the end of the show, upon which he then gave his opinion about it.
