Joey De Leon, in an Instagram post, gave meaning to the word “Legit” in the phrase “Legit Dabarkads.”
This was after their group, which comprise the main and co-hosts of “Eat Bulaga,” graced the official welcoming ceremonies of TV5.
The TV host and comedian then took to IG to post photos of the occasion, where one can see the “Legit Dabarkads” in full force.
Joey, quoting his son Jako De Leon, wrote what for him, the meaning of “Legit,” which is the encapsulation of traits that include “loyalty, empathy, gratitude, integrity, and trust.”

The said event is also attended by senior executives of MediaQuest, the parent company of TV5, which included media and communications tycoon, Manny V. Pangilinan, the chairman of MediaQuest Holdings, Inc.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.
A previous post of Joey on IG also made rounds on social media. His post shows a photo showing the “legit Dabarkads” with TV5 executives. The said photo was captured at TV5 Media Center, where the previous “Eat Bulaga” hosts held a press conference - Along with the picture, Joey wrote, “E. A. T… Eto Ang Totoo!”
The portraits of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and their co-hosts' were strategically placed along TV5 Media Center's hallway. TV5 took to social media to share a video of the lovely portraits. Aside from the iconic trio's images, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Maine Mendoza, Allan K, Ryan Agoncillo, Carren Eistrup and Ryzza Mae Dizon's portraits are seen displayed. A group portrait of the previous "Eat Bulaga" hosts is also spotted on the hallway wall.
