Vice Ganda used the UAAP Season 89 opening ceremony as an opportunity to deliver a strong message to Generation Z, encouraging young people to take an active role in shaping the kind of society they want to live in.

The Kapamilya star performed “All I Do Is Win” during the September 12 ceremony, where he reflected on his connection to Far Eastern University, his former school where he studied Political Science.

While looking back on his own journey, Vice emphasized that young people should fight for opportunities that allow them to succeed. He also pointed out that creating an environment where the youth can thrive is connected to the kind of leaders they choose.

"It is very important that we exist in an environment that allows us to win kaya naman ang hamon ko sa inyo, ipanalo ninyo ang lipunang magbibigay sa inyo ng disenting pamumuhay at kalayaang magtagumpay," he remarked.

Vice further stressed the importance of leaders who prioritize the welfare and future of the people. He encouraged members of Gen Z to participate and remain involved in matters affecting society.

"At mangyayari lamang 'yan kapag naipanalo ninyo ang mga lider na hindi kayo nanakawan, at gagawin kayong bobo, at ilulubog ang inyong dangal at pag-asa sa baha. Kaya naman Gen Zs, I challenge you to fight, show up, and win no matter what!" he added.

After his performance, Vice spoke with members of the media and explained why he chose to incorporate a social message into his number.

According to the comedian, the UAAP opening provided a timely opportunity to speak directly to young people, particularly because many of those watching belonged to the generation he hoped to inspire.

Vice said he specifically wanted to reach young people who could become part of efforts to create change in the country. He described Gen Z as an important generation in conversations about the future and encouraged them to be more engaged with issues affecting society.

She said the emotional moment lasted nearly 10 minutes and left her feeling so sorry for Alden that she no longer wanted to continue with the interview. Despite the difficult moment, Alden insisted that they proceed and continued opening up about his journey toward learning to love himself. He shared that he had spent years searching for love from another person before realizing that what he needed most was to learn how to love himself.
