TV host and comedienne Melai Cantiveros took time to reply to some bashers who posted negative comments after the comedienne announced she’s supporting the candidacy of VP Leni Robredo in her quest to become the next president of the Philippines.

Melai is among the many celebrities who recently came out in public to declare their support for the presidential bid of VP Leni.
The comedienne immediately became subject of bashing, with some going personal with their comments.

Perhaps wanting to be a good sport, Melai gamely answered some of those comments in a polite manner.
Several bashers said that the comedienne supports the bid of VP Leni because she wanted to have the franchise of ABS-CBN renewed.
“For the sake of Abs-cbn, not for the Philippines and it’s people, sa nakikita ko lang,” wrote one netizen.
“Si leni e boto nila para mabuksan ang abscbnEND,” another netizen said.
Melai denied she supported Leni because of ABS-CBN.
“For the sake of u and ur family kaya ko boboto si Leni,” the comedienne replied to the netizen who said Melai’s support was because of ABS-CBN.
“Buhay pa naman ang ABS kahit hindi binuksan,” Melai replied to the one who claimed she supported VP Leni so ABS-CBN will be opened.
“Kay leni kau para sa abs cbn di para sa Pilipinas,” yet said another, to which the comedienne replied: “Mas para sayu hindi para sa abs para maencourage ka muboto sa tama.”
Another netizen netizen seem to go below the belt, calling the comedienne “bobo.”
“Huuuy Melai gising!!! Taga Mindanao kapa mandin bobo ka mag isip,” the commenter wrote.
Unperturbed, Melai replied: “Ikaw ang gising hindi lahat ng taga mindanao parehas sayu mag isip, sabihin mu yan sa sarili mu, matagal kanang tulog, baka sa pagising mu Umayos na ang pinas.”
Melai Cantiveros is a prominent showbiz personality in the Philippines. She tied the knot with Jason Francisco on December 9, 2013, and they already have two children. Her morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” has been a steady hit for the Kapamilya network.
In her recent post on Instagram, Melai shared the reason why she will vote for VP Leni Robredo. She categorically said that her vote is for VP and the comedienne then stated the reason why she would cast her vote on Robredo. Melai said that it would be for the good future of the Pinoy youth. Karla Estrada, her fellow host in ‘Magandang Buhay’ then reacted and told her, “Love you Lai.”
Melai is not new to bashing as she even experienced confronting those who bashed her daughters. Previously, she revealed that she and the basher of her daughters have already compromised. In an Instagram post, Melai posted screenshots of her conversation with the basher, presumably a fan of Francine Diaz. According to the “Magandang Buhay” host, the basher reached out to her after she warned of suing them. The comedienne likewise apologized to Francine after her name was dragged into the issue.
