Enchong Dee might be welcoming the New Year with some difficulty as he faces the prospect of being arrested for the crime of cyberlibel.

This was after the Provincial Prosecutors Office of the province of Davao Occidental found “probable cause” in the complaint filed against him by Drivers United for Mass Progress and Equal Rights (DUMPER) Representative Claudine Diana Bautista-Lim.
A report by Rappler, stated that a panel of prosecutors at the province of Davao Occidental found that the tweet of the actor is not simply an expression of disgust but an allegation that Representative Bautista-Lim is a thief.

In a now-deleted tweet, Enchong appeared to suggest that part of the money spent for the wedding of the DUMPER partylist representative at the super-exclusive Balesin Island Club came funds intended for DUMPER members.
DUMPER members consist of jeepney and bus drivers.
While the actor deleted that particular tweet and replaced it with a new one apologizing for the deed, DUMPER Representative Bautista-Lim indicated that she would still file a case against the actor.
In a report by the Philippine Star, she did just that when she filed a whooping 1-billion cyberlibel case against the actor last month.
This is the complaint that was recently submitted for resolution.
However, the same panel of prosecutors did not find similar probable cause to file a case against the other subjects of the complaint, namely, Agot Isidro, Pokwang, and Ogie Diaz.
A report published in the Manila Bulletin, quoted the statement of the panel of prosecutors, who in part said: “This Office could not attribute malice and ill motive to the said respondents who have taken upon themselves to be the so-called watchdogs of our society.”
As for Enchong, the panel of prosecutors said that he did more than just express his disgust by “imputing a crime, which is malversation of public funds, against DUMPER Representative Bautista-Lim.
Depending on the appreciation of the judge who will be handling the case, a warrant of arrest might be issued against the actor.
Cyberlibel is, however, a bailable offense so in case a warrant is issued, the actor could pay the required bail to secure his temporary liberty.
Though the warrant of arrest, if issued by the court, must first be served before he could pay the required bail.
The actor has yet to make a statement on the recent development.

He was born on November 5, 1988 to Maria Theresa Diño Velasquez and Johnson Molina Dee in Naga, Camarines Sur. He rose to fame after landing in his first major role in the TV drama Katorse. He also portrayed the role of Luis in Maria la del Barrio and also appeared in Ina, Kapatid, Anak. At present, he is under contract with Star Magic.
It is not yet known whether he will seek help from showbiz friends like Erich Gonzales. The actor recently revealed how close he really is to the actress and vlogger. The two have appeared in several projects together and are doing some collaborative work on YouTube. They met way back in 2009 when they starred together in the TV series, and has since became fast friends. The two were so close that they have been rumored at one time to be in a relationship.
Another showbiz friend of Enchong is singer Darren Espanto. The actor had previously shared on his Instagram Stories a short video clip of Darren. The singer was in the middle of the dressing room, singing, clearly practicing his number. The actor then made a funny caption, saying that it is always a free concert with "Asia's Tonsils" and tagged Darren. Indeed, it would be nice to always have that "free concert" whenever great singers like Darren Espanto is around.
