Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes is fully supportive of his nine-year-old daughter Zia Dantes exploring her love for music, including the possibility of joining GMA Network’s “The Voice Kids.”

According to a report by Bandera, Dingdong said he would be willing to let Zia participate in the singing competition if she genuinely wants to pursue the experience. However, the actor revealed that he has one condition, he hopes Zia’s mother, Marian Rivera, could be the one to accompany and coach her.

According to Dingdong, Marian has been closely involved in supporting Zia’s musical interests and activities. He also jokingly corrected himself while talking about his daughter’s singing-related activities.

“‘Yung mom talaga niya yung nandiyan para samahan siya du’n sa kanyang mga singing ano… singing engage-... engagements?” he said, laughing.

"Singing practice, ’di ba, parang ganu’n," he continued.

“So, suportado talaga namin ang kanyang love for music. Pero I would also love for her to meet our coaches, like Coach Yeng [Constantino] and of course si Coach Gloc [9]. Kasi si Coach Julie [San Jose] kakilala na niya, eh," he said.

“Nakapag-jamming na sila ni Coach Julie, eh." he continued.

"So one of these days, ang wish and hope ko ay makabisita siya para makita niya how it is and ma-meet niya ang ating coaches as well as Ate Gabbi [Garcia]."

Dingdong’s comments come as GMA prepares for the return of “The Voice Kids,” with Yeng Constantino and Gloc-9 introduced as new coaches alongside Julie Anne San Jose.

The actor also has good reason to be confident in Zia’s musical abilities. At only nine years old, she has already earned the Breakthrough Child Performer of the Year award at the 37th Aliw Awards.

Zia received the recognition for her first performance in the “Be Our Guest” concert, a musical recital by RMA Studio Academy held at The Podium Hall in 2024. During the event, she performed Andra Day’s “Rise Up,” earning applause from the audience.

Aside from singing, Zia has also been exploring different areas of music. Dingdong previously shared that his daughter is learning to play several musical instruments, including the piano, drums and guitar.

Zia may therefore have an opportunity to step onto the “The Voice Kids” stage someday, especially if she decides that competing is something she truly wants to pursue.

The new season of “The Voice Kids” is set to premiere on September 13, following the conclusion of “The Clash Teens.”

She explained that she and Dingdong have introduced a points-based system to teach their children that certain privileges come with responsibility and should be earned.
