Kakie, who plays Joy Jopson, said she discovered during the film’s workshop that even simple physical interactions with co-star Elijah Canlas made her uncomfortable.
She opened up about the challenges she encountered while her first movie during an interview in Quezon City on Thursday, September 4, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
“Noong nag-workshop kami, unang napansin ni Direk—ako din eh, I never thought doon ako mahirapan. Na parang simpleng hug or ‘Can you boop her nose?’ And when he did, my whole body all of a sudden [cringes].”

“I did not think that part would be hardest to get over—and ang daming dramatic scenes and emotionally intense.”
Kakie clarified that her reaction was not because of Elijah but because she was shy and not accustomed to portraying physical intimacy on screen.
“There was something in me na hindi sanay sa gano’n. Nahiya ako. Up until that point [kissing scene], conscious ako, sobra.”
She said she eventually became more comfortable after developing a close friendship with the actor ng the production.
“You are a wonderful first husband on screen and is one of my best friends now. The first kiss we shot was on top of the hill, that was like dawn. After, kinuwento niya buong buhay niya after that and nawala na hiya.”
“EDJOP” also stars Jodi Sta Maria, Cedrick Juan, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, alongside other cast members.

She recalled that the throwback footage was filmed around 2010 or 2011 for Kiko’s birthday.
